DUI Suspect Anita Mann Appears In Court Today

Anita Mann, the 19-year-old accused of driving drunk and killing two people on February 16, appeared in a Henderson courtroom Wednesday morning.
After a judge ruled Mann as a danger to society, Mann’s father defended her by saying that she was not a partier or a drinker and never even had a parking ticket. Mann attended CSN and her parents describe her as a good kid who made good grades.
Nevertheless, her bail was set at $225,000 and her preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 11th.
Mann is facing two counts of felony DUI for the deaths of 66-year-old Louis Madden and 65-year-old Karen Hicks who were killed on February 16th.
Police say Mann’s blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit.
Mann did not give an explanation as to how she obtained the alcohol early Tuesday morning.
Mann’s attorney, Steve Wolfson, commented on how this situation is a tragedy for both families involved. We agree.
