Seat belt crackdown over holidays to battle Nevada auto accident injuries

Seat belt enforcement will increase through Nov. 30 in an effort to reduce Nevada auto accident injuries over the holidays, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal. Police in Sparks, Reno, Washoe County School District, and the Storey County Sheriff’s Office will be involved in the effort.

30,521 passenger-vehicle occupant fatalities in auto accidents nationwide were reported last year. Of those, 15,523 car accident victims were not wearing restraints and 75 percent of occupants thrown from vehicles were killed.
