Truck accident victim’s girlfriend dies in separate Nevada car accident on her way to see him

As one Nevada car accident victim was recovering, his girlfriend of three years died in an accident while she was on her way to visit him, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal. She had been celebrating Thanksgiving in Wyoming and was traveling back to Nevada when she and a passenger died in a rollover accident at 7 a.m. Saturday.

Her boyfriend had been in a Nevada truck accident at 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning that left him badly injured and killed his passenger. The driver and passenger in the truck were both taken to a local hospital to be treated for traumatic brain injuries.

Man arrested for suspicion of DUI, hit-and-run in Nevada car accident

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported that a man was arrested Friday after being accused by police of hitting a teenager in a crosswalk and leaving the scene of the Nevada auto accident. The 59-year-old man is accused of hitting the young girl in a marked crosswalk and driving around her to leave the scene.

The 14-year-old Reno auto accident victim was being treated Monday for serious head injuries, according to police. The girl was crossing the street at 5:36 p.m. when two vehicles yielded the right-of-way to let her cross and she was hit by another car.

The driver was also arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.

Seat belt crackdown over holidays to battle Nevada auto accident injuries

Seat belt enforcement will increase through Nov. 30 in an effort to reduce Nevada auto accident injuries over the holidays, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal. Police in Sparks, Reno, Washoe County School District, and the Storey County Sheriff’s Office will be involved in the effort.

30,521 passenger-vehicle occupant fatalities in auto accidents nationwide were reported last year. Of those, 15,523 car accident victims were not wearing restraints and 75 percent of occupants thrown from vehicles were killed.

Teen dies from Las Vegas auto accident injuries

A 17-year-old Las Vegas car accident victim passed away who was injured last week after falling off the back of a pickup, reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The teenager died from his car accident injuries on Sunday, according to police.

His name has not been released. Police said the teen was on top of the covered bed of the pickup and fell off when the driver made a turn last Thursday. The Nevada auto accident victim was the 20th traffic fatality in North Las Vegas this year, according to police.

Two die in Nevada aircraft accident Thursday

A Nevada aircraft accident Thursday evening was described as not survivable by the Las Vegas police air unit, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal. Two people died in an airplane accident when a Civil Air Patrol plane ran into Mount Potosi.

Two small planes disappeared from local radar the night of the crash, though the other plane had made a successful emergency landing and its occupants did not suffer any Nevada aircraft accident injuries.
